Problem & Solution
Power Electronics Add-On for VeriStand: The maximum number of eHSx64 cores that can be used has been exceeded

NI-PEA: The maximum number of eHSx64 cores that can be used has been exceeded

Problem: Upon deployment of a Veristand project that contains the Power Electronics Add-on (PEA), the following error pops up:  The maximum number of eHSx64 cores that can be used had been exceeded":

Solution: The PEA solution includes an electrical solver called eHS, this solver has different implementations that determine  the size of the Power electronics models that can be loaded: eHSx32/ eHSx64/ eHSx128, being 32 the smallest version of the solver, 128 the largest version. The size of the eHS solver that can be used will depend on the license acquired with the NI controller. Whenever user is configuring the PEA custom device in versitand , user needs to make sure to select the right configuration that matches the license included on the NI system:

The different configurations in a specific PEA version (version 1.15 in the above image) contain different eHS solver sizes ((32/64/128)), different machine types (IM/ PMSM/ SM), and are compatible for different NI FPGA cards on the NI controller (ie 7891 / 7868R). User most verify that his NI license and FPGA device is compatible with the selected configuration (information typically included in the "System Description" document delivered with the NI controller/bench). NOTE: Be aware that some devices such as the 7891 are only compatible with eHSx64 solver format (and not 32), in case the discussed error comes from such a incompatibility issue, user is advice to contact support and or his Opal-RT accont manager.
