HowTo
[REDHAT] How to Modify the Target IP Address by Connecting it to a Monitor, Keyboard and Mouse

How to find or change the target IP address by connecting it to a monitor, keyboard and mouse

Target simulators run either on a Linux Redhat OS or on a QNX OS. These OS offer a user friendly desktop environment that can be used to access multiple information or performed different tasks.

1. To access the OS desktop environment, connect a monitor, keyboard and mouse. First image shows where are the connections for the OP5600 and second image shows where are the connections for the OP4500 / OP4510. Other simulators have the same type of connections.

2. Make sure the power switch at the back is on and then click on the little red power button in the front. During the booting, the target OS will ask for a Username and Password. You will find this information in your OPAL-RT binder shipped with your system. If you don't find it, please contact Opal-RT Support.

3. Once logged in as root, go to System / Administration / Network. Double-click on 'eth0' and you will have all information on this target network port.

4. If you want to change the IP address and/or Subnet mask, simply change the corresponding fields and reset the target. Note that you can alternatively open a terminal and type the command #service network restart instead of resetting the target.
