RT-LAB Release Schedule
Major RT-LAB versions are released at least twice a year in January and July although other major versions can also be released in the year if needed.
- Each major version can introduce new features, new product support and bug fixes.
- Releases are named by the calendar year (YYYY) followed by a period and a number, for example YYYY.1, YYYY.2, etc.
- Minor versions can be released between major versions and identified with the addition a period followed by a number at the end, e.g., YYYY.2.1.
MATLAB/Simulink Compatibility and Support
Starting with version 2024.1, the January and July RT-LAB releases will support the last 6 MATLAB/Simulink releases available at launch date. This covers 3 years of MATLAB/Simulink releases. Any other version that can be released during the year will support only the last 6 MATLAB/Simulink of the preceding January or July versions.
- MATLAB/Simulink versions are released twice a year in March (YYYY.A) and September (YYYY.B). See their official Release Schedule here.
- All features introduced in the last 6 MATLAB/Simulink releases will be supported and non-regression will be ensured.
- OPAL-RT toolboxes ARTEMiS, eHS, ePHASORSIM and MMC and libraries will also support the last 6 MATLAB/Simulink releases at the same time. The only exception is RT-XSG which also depends on AMD VivadoTM software.
- Older versions of MATLAB/Simulink will be entirely removed from the last major release of RT-LAB.
- Technical support will only be provided for officially supported releases. Users of older RT-LAB versions will still receive support for officially supported MATLAB/Simulink versions at that time.
For example:
- RT-LAB 2024 released in January 2024 will support these last 6 MATLAB/Simulink versions: 2023B, 2023A, 2022B, 2022A, 2021B and 2021A.
- RT-LAB 2024 released in July 2024 will support these last 6 MATLAB/Simulink versions: 2024A, 2023B, 2023A, 2022B, 2022A, and 2021B.
- If a version of RT-LAB is release in November 2024, it will not include compatibility with the September release (2024.B) of MATLAB/Simulink but will be compatible with the same MATLAB/Simulink versions of the RT-LAB July release. The MATLAB/Simulink September release will be compatible in the January 2025 release of RT-LAB.
