[Varanasi-Banaras, India, 18th Oct 2021] IDAPT Hub Foundation IIT (BHU) Varanasi and OPAL-RT take great pride to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Indian Institute of Technology Banaras (BHU) under the aegis of I-DAPT Hub Foundation to support each other’s endeavours in Research & Technology development.

The aim is to carry out research in the critical area of Data Analytics & Predictive Technologies (DAPT) in the Thrust area of Power among other critical areas as a part of the Technology Innovation Hub (TIH) under National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber Physical Systems (NM-ICPS). The collaboration will lead to the development of Digital Twin Technology, Cloud-based Solutions, Cyber Security Technology etc. in the identified thrust areas of IDAPT Hub, i.e., Power, Defence, Road Transport and Highways, Telecommunications, and Health and Family Welfare.

During the signing of the MoU, Prof. Pramod Kumar Jain, Director IIT (BHU) and Chairman Board of Directors, I-DAPT expressed that this MoU would help I-DAPT Hub Foundation to develop Industry 4.0 compliant technological solutions to suit the critical requirements of DAPT enabled cyber physical system for stable and real time power system. Prof. Jain further added that the MoU will help in developing cutting edge technologies for defense too.

Dr. Rajeev Kumar Singh, Chairman, IEEE IAS Chapter IIT(BHU) Varanasi and a Senior Member, IEEE who heads the Thrust area of Power under the I-DAPT said, “The collaboration with Opal-RT Technologies will help in finding solutions for the real time problems of Indian Power Sector. The MoU will help in developing the next generation technologies for e-mobility and smart grid infrastructure”

“This MoU will enable Opal-RT to lend its capability to create high-fidelity digital twins of power systems at IIT-BHU for both real-time & faster-than-real-time scenarios to replicate complex situations of Power System Controls, CyberPhysical Security and Renewable Energy Integration among many others” Mr.Girish Nanjundaiah, Managing Director, Opal-RT India opined.
