This work aims to represent in real-time the power equipment of the detailed and equivalent portions of the Brazilian Interconnect Power System (SIN) with the most efficient use of the simulation resources (hardware and software) available at the “Direct Current Transmission Systems Simulator (SSCC)” of the National Electrical System Operator (ONS). The application of this methodology allows a better detailing of the network representation for execution of electrical studies related to interaction of HVDC controllers in a configuration of multiple infeeds. In the present realization the Hypersim - RTDS interface, a mathematical model based on instantaneous values of electrical quantities is adopted
OPAL-RT & RTDS EMT/Phasor Co-Simulation Webinar
The integration of renewable energy and complex power systems necessitates accurate simulations. Co-simulation frameworks, merging Phasor and EMT simulations, offer precise representations for intricate interactions.
Utilizing OPAL-RT’s real-time abilities and high-fidelity simulations in tandem with RTDS’s allows hardware-in-the-loop testing and large-scale emulation. Co-simulation results are compared to standalone simulations, highlighting its potential.
This framework shows promise for advancing power system analysis and control, enabling real-time utilization of simplified and detailed models. This aids in understanding system behavior, optimizing operations, and integrating renewable energy and emerging technologies into the grid.
