OPAL-RT TECHNOLOGIES Wins Product of the Year at NIWeek in Austin, TX

OPAL-RT TECHNOLOGIES announced today that it has won the LabVIEW Tools Network Product of the Year award in the Academic category at the 21st Annual NIWeek Conference in Austin, Texas. The honor was presented at the 2015 Alliance Partner and LabVIEW Tools Network Awards ceremony, and was given for OPAL-RT TECHNOLOGIES’ Power Electronics HIL Teaching Laboratory, an educational courseware designed to teach the basics of power electronics to university undergraduate students and to foster a community of users for on-going learning and exchange of ideas. It was developed as part of a new partnership with National Instruments (NI).

The annual NIWeek conference attracts more than 3200 top experts and highlights the latest technologies for improving productivity in software-defined systems for test, measurement, and control, across a wide spectrum of industries. OPAL-RT TECHNOLOGIES’s innovative courseware platform took the LabVIEW Tools Network Product of the Year Award after proving its innovative approach and its effectiveness and suitability for the challenging academic market. “It’s very gratifying to get this kind of recognition for a product that we’ve worked hard to develop and that we really believe in,” said Jean Bélanger, CEO and CTO of OPAL-RT TECHNOLOGIES. “Winning Product of the Year at NI Week demonstrates the value of our partnership with NI and what our combined expertise can create.” The Power Electronics HIL Teaching Laboratory is a powerful academic learning tool that gives teachers and students the ability to experiment and learn the basics of power electronics, including the tools that are used in industry research and development. It provides a clear, guided pedagogical process while encouraging students to experiment and collaborate with one another, with the goal of creating expertise with the flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances. The product has received significant traction since its launch and is already building a significant sales funnel.
